Senior Business Development Manager

About the role

Smart4 Energy is looking for a commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to expand its footprint in the renewable energy market across Ghana. You will lead the identification and acquisition of new projects in solar PV, battery energy storage, and integrated clean‑energy solutions, working closely with developers, utilities, and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in solar, energy storage, and distributed energy markets.
• Build and maintain relationships with EPC contractors, utilities, commercial and industrial clients, investors and other key stakeholders.
• Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation through contract execution.
• Lead negotiations, pricing discussions and contract development for renewable energy solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, regulatory changes and customer needs.
• Collaborate with technical, engineering and product teams to create tailored solutions.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and commercial submissions.
• Represent Smart4 Energy at industry events and conferences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within the renewable energy sector.
• Proven track record of managing long and complex sales cycles.
• Strong commercial acumen and market awareness.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CRM platforms.
