Senior Internal Audit Assistant

About the role

The Senior Internal Audit Assistant will support the internal audit function by assisting in planning, executing, and reporting audit engagements. Working under supervision, the role contributes to risk assessment, compliance testing, and follow‑up activities across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining audit scopes, drafting audit programs, and preparing the internal audit plan and budget.
• Perform fieldwork procedures, including pre‑ and post‑audit assignments, under supervision.
• Obtain, analyse, and evaluate accounting records, operational data flowcharts, and control matrices to assess compliance and effectiveness.
• Document audit findings, summarise key issues, and help prepare audit reports with recommended actions.
• Support follow‑up audits to verify remediation of previously identified issues.
• Engage in basic risk assessments and maintain documentation in audit tracking systems.
• Liaise proactively with process owners and stakeholders to clarify procedures and monitor audit progress.
• Contribute to team quality metrics such as report timeliness and feedback.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience as an auditing assistant.
• First degree in a relevant field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• Age between 35 and 55 at the time of appointment.
• In‑depth knowledge of accounting and auditing practices.
• Strong ethics, confidentiality, and professional integrity.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to use analytical tools for data analysis.
