Senior Operator - Production

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Senior Operator – Production to ensure effective functioning of equipment at the Iduapriem Gold Mine in Ghana. The role focuses on maintaining optimal production recovery through equipment checks, milling support, and plant housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑start equipment checks each shift and report defects.
• Perform steel ball charging into mills to support throughput.
• Carry out housekeeping tasks such as cleaning liners, removing scraps, and emptying dustbins in the CIL plant.
• Operate and control thickeners and coordinate the flocculant mixing plant with control‑room operators.
• Ensure flocculant powder availability and keep mixing hoppers filled for continuous operation.
• Apply safe work and environmental procedures and report accidents, incidents, and near‑misses.

Required profile

• HND / GCE O level / GCE A level / SSCE / Middle School Leaving Certificate / JHS / Mechanical Engineering Technician II / Electrical & Electronic Technician II, NVTI, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 1–3 years experience in a gold processing plant.

Required skills

• Conducting pre‑start equipment checks.
• Operating milling equipment and steel ball charging.
• Operating thickeners and flocculant mixing plant.
• Driving a light vehicle.
