Senior Specialist – Long Term Mine Planning

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Long Term Mine Planning will develop and maintain long‑term mine planning inputs that support business planning, capital allocation and resource development decisions for the Obuasi Gold Mine. Reporting to the Planning Manager, the role leads Life‑of‑Mine option assessments, integrates geological and operational data, and provides technical leadership across the planning horizon.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate at least 30% of time to support site safety compliance and promote a zero‑harm culture.
• Spend a minimum of 30% of time underground to validate planning assumptions, assess infrastructure sequencing and ensure Life‑of‑Mine strategies align with actual mining conditions.
• Mentor and train engineers, delivering structured technical guidance as part of succession planning.
• Lead continuous improvement of Life‑of‑Mine planning assumptions, standards, documentation and scenario‑evaluation frameworks.
• Prepare and deliver planning presentations and reports to engage stakeholders and support strategic decision‑making.
• Develop and maintain the Life‑of‑Mine model, incorporating geological, technical and operational inputs.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least five years (60 months) of relevant experience in mine planning or related fields.
• Proven ability to work both on‑site and underground, validating planning data against real‑world conditions.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to build sustainable planning expertise.
