Senior Specialist, Systems Coordination

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Systems Coordination will provide maximum technological support for the OEC (Operating Equipment Control) at the Obuasi Mine, ensuring radio, voice, data, hardware and critical systems meet statutory and corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously update PLC and SCADA systems, ensuring safety interlocks, braking and speed control integrity.
• Monitor OEC system availability, data quality, and performance, defining SLAs/SLOs and conducting root‑cause analyses.
• Lead safety management activities, including inspections, audits, lock‑out/tag‑out, incident investigations and training.
• Coordinate changes, manage the technology portfolio, and ensure information‑security controls are applied.
• Prepare and manage the sectional budget, track cost‑reduction initiatives and report KPI status.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 5 years) in mining or industrial automation environments.
• Proven ability to lead safety‑critical procedures and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of statutory mining regulations, OEM specifications and corporate engineering governance.

Required skills

• PLC programming and SCADA system management.
• Telemetry, radio, VoIP and data‑reporting integration.
• Risk assessment methods such as HAZOP and FMEA.
• SAP asset maintenance management.
• Budget planning and cost‑control.
