Senior WordPress Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to join our team in Kumasi, Ghana. This hybrid, full-time position combines full-stack development with leadership of technical delivery, ensuring high-quality products that meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical planning, architecture, and estimation for WordPress projects.
• Develop custom WordPress themes using PHP and the template hierarchy.
• Collaborate with designers, product owners, and QA to translate user stories into actionable tasks.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients and internal teams.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and ensure tasks meet “Done Means Done” standards.
• Support billing, estimation, and client-facing interactions throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Take extreme ownership of work and deliver on commitments.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Anticipate problems and solve them proactively.
• Adapt quickly in fast-moving projects and build client trust.

Required skills

• WordPress theme development (PHP, template hierarchy).
• Proficiency in at least one JavaScript framework (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Responsive UI implementation.
• Experience with Shopify (Liquid), Drupal, or mobile frameworks (Flutter, React Native) is a plus.
• Headless WordPress or REST API integration.
• SQL knowledge.
• ADA accessibility (WCAG compliance) experience.
