Service Technician – Underground

About the role

The Service Technician – Underground will perform mechanical and electrical duties on Sandvik Mining and Construction heavy‑duty trackless equipment. The role focuses on maintaining equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and supporting cost‑effective operations in underground mining environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance as directed, ensuring safe operation and equipment integrity.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs using hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Provide feedback for maintenance planning and efficiency improvements.
• Achieve set KPIs and conduct technical equipment audits with detailed reporting.
• Commission equipment and complete all related documentation.
• Execute tasks within approved budgets and timelines while adhering to Sandvik SHEQ policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a recognised trade qualification.
• Proven experience with heavy‑duty trackless equipment, preferably Sandvik underground drills.
• Ability to work safely in underground mining environments.
