Social Media Video Editor (TikTok, Instagram Reels, Remote Ghana)

About the role

A fast-growing creative and marketing agency based in Toronto, working with restaurants, nightlife brands and lifestyle businesses, is hiring a Social Media Content Editor in Ghana. The role is remote and contract-based, turning raw footage into engaging short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts. Only applicants with proven experience editing short-form social media videos will be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Edit short-form videos using CapCut or similar software, adding captions, transitions, sound design and effects.
• Follow creative direction while bringing your own ideas to each edit.
• Deliver edits on time and complete revisions when requested.
• Attend at least two weekly review meetings and stay proactive about deadlines and project updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience editing short-form social media content; a portfolio of videos you personally edited is required.
• Reliable laptop capable of editing HD video and fast, reliable internet (backup internet preferred).
• Ability to work to Canadian Eastern Time deadlines, with edits generally due by 12:00 PM ET.
• Strong communication skills and reliability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CapCut or similar video editing software.
• Understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts trends.
• Bonus: Canva, Photoshop, restaurant or nightlife brand content, and knowledge of hooks, viewer retention and engagement.

What we offer

• Pay per completed video, typically GHS 35 to GHS 120+, depending on complexity (simple, standard or complex edits).
• Up to two rounds of revisions per video; experienced editors may earn higher rates and more work.
