Sonographer – Clinical Imaging Position

About the role

Lapaz Community Hospital is seeking qualified Sonographers to join its diagnostic imaging team in Accra. The successful candidate will perform ultrasound examinations, produce high‑quality images, and support clinicians in patient diagnosis and care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of ultrasound scans, including obstetric, abdominal, vascular and musculoskeletal studies.
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety throughout examinations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and produce detailed reports of findings.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and recommend further investigations.
• Adhere to infection control standards and hospital protocols.

Required profile

• BSc in Sonography from an accredited institution.
• Valid Professional Identification Number (PIN) and registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience performing diagnostic ultrasound.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and related software.
• Ability to acquire and interpret high‑quality sonographic images.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
