Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable (MENA Region)

About the role

Amideast is hiring a Staff Accountant for its MENA region, working remotely from a country where Amideast has current operations and legal status. The role covers accounts receivable, treasury, billing, account reconciliations, project setup and analysis, and is based in a professional office environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and record cash receipts, monitor A/R aging and follow up with clients and Country Offices on outstanding balances
• Reconcile contributions and donations, and book wire transfers, checks and vouchers in Deltek Costpoint
• Process travel expense reports and prepare customer and project billings in Deltek Costpoint
• Manage project setup in Deltek Costpoint with Contracts and Grants, and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and invoices
• Prepare monthly federal drawdown sheets and support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals and deferrals
• Calculate monthly student taxes, assist with the annual FBAR report, and maintain accurate revenue recognition
• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations, support audits, and help automate accounting processes
• Maintain accounting procedures, documentation, internal controls and archived records, and support Accounts Payable and other finance activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least 2 years in accounts receivable or treasury, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of non-profit accounting under FASB and GAAP, and a solid grasp of accounting principles
• Analytical, proactive and resourceful, with strong problem-solving skills
• Preferred: 2 years' experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar accounting software
