Supply Chain Manager

About the role

Our client, a multinational commodity trading company expanding into Ghana, is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the full logistics chain from vessel discharge at the Port of Tema to delivery for industrial clients. The role is critical to the performance of trading operations from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise discharge operations for bulk or bagged soy, wheat and wheat bran at the Port of Tema.
• Coordinate with port authorities, shipping agents, consignees and freight forwarders to ensure smooth port calls.
• Verify cargo compliance, manage demurrage, and organise weighing, sampling and quality analysis.
• Manage warehouse and silo operations, implement FIFO rotation, conduct stock counts and ensure traceability of commodity batches.
• Organise and optimise road transport to clients across Ghana and the sub‑region, negotiate rates and rationalise routes.
• Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams on flow planning, invoicing and KPI tracking.
• Lead and develop local field teams, produce regular operational reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport or Industrial Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of experience in bulk agricultural commodity logistics, with proven work at a Ghanaian port (preferably Port of Tema).
• In‑depth knowledge of Ghanaian port operations, GRA customs procedures, phytosanitary regulations and Incoterms.
