System Administrator

About the role

The company is seeking a proactive System Administrator to manage and support its web‑hosting, ISP and LAN infrastructure across Accra and Tema. You will ensure high availability of services, perform system upgrades, and provide expert technical support to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internet applications such as DNS, RADIUS, LDAP, Apache, Postfix, MySQL and PHP.
• Write and maintain scripts, perform regular backups and restore operations.
• Design, configure, install and maintain clustered, standalone and blade servers running VMware.
• Implement and manage storage solutions including RAID arrays and SAN technology.
• Provide tier‑2 support for web‑hosting, ISP and LAN customers, escalating issues as needed.
• Document server configurations, scripts and procedures in a shared repository.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations Centre to monitor system reliability and traffic patterns.
• Analyze hardware requirements, recommend acquisitions and rebuild or install new servers according to standards.
• Administer user accounts, enforce security policies and install security tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in system administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT diploma; Linux and Microsoft certifications are a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently or within a team and meet deadlines.
