Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) Supervisor

About the role

The Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) Supervisor will lead the safe and efficient operation of the TSF at the Obuasi Gold Mine. This role ensures the physical and chemical stability of the facility throughout the mine life and supports sustainable land use after closure.

Key responsibilities

• Promote AGA Safety, Health and Environmental standards and comply with the AGA TSF framework.
• Maintain TSF key performance indicators such as freeboard, pool distances and depth, following SOPs.
• Inspect tailings delivery lines and provide feedback to operations, environmental and plant teams.
• Supervise daily activities of TSF contractors and coordinate fumigation against reptiles.
• Drive housekeeping, loss control and discipline among the TSF crew.
• Investigate equipment safety and environmental issues, taking corrective actions promptly.
• Control and reduce operational and engineering costs.
• Collaborate with the Water and Tailings Specialist on additional duties.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil, Geotechnical or Hydrogeological Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar TSF supervisory role (7 years if no degree).
• Certificate of competence from the Minerals Commission is an advantage.
• Strong decision‑making, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
