Transport Control Clerk

About the role

The Transport Control Clerk will manage driver rosters and coordinate fleet movements for airport transfers and pick‑up services across Obuasi, Kumasi and Accra. Reporting to the Superintendent HME/LV & Trucks, the role supports plant availability and cost‑effective transport operations at the Obuasi Gold Mine.

Key responsibilities

• Produce daily work rosters and driver schedules for all transport activities.
• Develop and maintain the fleet movement schedule for airport and inter‑city travel.
• Conduct periodic audits of vehicle and driver documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Generate work requests in SAP for vehicle maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Monitor pre‑start checks, condition‑monitoring data (oil analysis, vibration) and asset health indicators.
• Escalate anomalies, coordinate repairs, and implement cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Provide information to the Transport Officer and Superintendent for performance reporting.

Required profile

• Secondary education level with a valid driver’s licence.
• Completed apprenticeship (e.g., City and Guilds) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum two years’ experience in transport coordination or fleet management.
• Ability to work under total quality management principles and adhere to safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• SAP for work request creation and scheduling.
