Vendor & Work Control Specialist

About the role

The Vendor & Work Control Specialist will manage outsourced O&M partners and third‑party vendors to achieve cost savings and quality improvements for Telecel Ghana. Working within Service Assurance, the role ensures contracts, SLAs and delivery processes are effectively administered while supporting contract negotiations and operational changes.

Key responsibilities

• Administer efficient delivery processes and ensure timely completion of O&M activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with approved vendors, communicating expectations and responsibilities.
• Coordinate safety requirements, conduct inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Validate vendor invoices, maintain auditable accounting records and seek approvals for purchase orders.
• Monitor and control the O&M budget, track work orders and ensure an effective processing system.
• Analyse data to identify trends, fuel usage patterns and vendor performance, reporting findings to line management.
• Collaborate with regional managers, technicians and engineers to plan routine and emergency maintenance.
• Manage in‑house sites (RDU and fibre POP) to support OPEX reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• BSc in Telecommunications or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven stakeholder management.
• Detailed knowledge of telecommunication services, operational KPIs and their impact on customer experience.
• Understanding of engineering functions, procedures and accounting practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
