Vice Rector – Mental Health Nursing

About the role

The Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives is seeking a Vice Rector for its Mental Health Nursing Division. Reporting to the Rector, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee both academic and administrative functions to ensure high‑quality education and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Rector in performing leadership duties and managing day‑to‑day operations of the division.
• Develop, implement and monitor academic and administrative policies.
• Supervise and coordinate all operational activities, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
• Maintain and enhance academic and professional standards across teaching, research and service.
• Provide direction on curriculum development, research initiatives and staff development.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth among faculty and staff.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Rector.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in mental health nursing or a related discipline.
• Registered mental health nurse (or equivalent professional qualification).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in public service, with at least 7 years in senior management.
• Fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
