Winder CIC Specialist

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is seeking a Winder CIC Specialist to join the Obuasi Gold Mine team. The role is responsible for overseeing the quality, safety and operational readiness of winding equipment and the associated CIC technicians in a fully mechanised underground mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and provide safety management plan elements for winding operations, ensuring compliance with AGA’s Integrated Management System and Ghanaian regulations.
• Supervise, train and monitor Winder CIC personnel to meet LI2182, government approvals and the site Environmental Management Plan.
• Review, approve and sign‑off winding training items, design specifications, testing plans, commissioning and hand‑over documentation.
• Deliver winding‑operation training and qualification programmes aligned with refurbishment and start‑up schedules.
• Design reporting structures and supply critical inputs to the Underground Maintenance Manager for operational readiness.
• Monitor the execution of the Operational Readiness plan, localisation targets and maintenance work quality, identifying and correcting sub‑standard practices.
• Ensure zero reportable environmental incidents and compliance breaches.

Required profile

• Proven experience in underground mining or heavy‑industry winding operations.
• Self‑motivated, accountable and able to work autonomously in a high‑risk environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, compliance and environmental regulations applicable to Ghanaian mining.
• Ability to lead, train and evaluate technical teams.
