Agronomist – Crop and Soil Management

About the role

GBfoods Africa is seeking an Agronomist to join its block farming project in Ghana. Reporting to the Farm Site Manager, you will work closely with farmers to boost crop yields, improve soil health, and increase farmer incomes through strategic agronomic support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support in crop production, soil control, and soil management.
• Identify and implement methods to maximize crop output per unit of land.
• Design and conduct experiments to optimize plant nutrition and soil health.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil, seed, and crop samples and present findings.
• Deliver actionable insights that drive higher yields and sustainable farming practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (Master’s in soil science is a plus).
• Minimum three years of experience as an agronomist.
• Strong knowledge of soil and crop principles.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and ability to engage with local farming communities.
• Proactive, result‑driven attitude with a high sense of ownership.
