Akan Language Teacher – Remote (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Akan speaker to join our team on a remote, hourly basis. You will play a pivotal role in translating, localising, and refining Akan content while supporting AI language model training.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localise content between Akan and English with cultural accuracy.
• Edit, proofread, and refine Akan language materials for clarity and consistency.
• Provide linguistic insights to train and evaluate AI language models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish language standards and guidelines.
• Develop and curate Akan language datasets for AI and NLP applications.
• Ensure high‑quality written and verbal communication in Akan across all deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of language resources and workflows.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Akan with strong communication skills.
• Proven experience in translation, editing, or linguistic analysis.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Deep understanding of Akan grammar, cultural context, and language nuances.
• Ability to give clear feedback to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience working independently in a remote environment.
