About the role
The Institute for Oil and Gas Studies at the University of Cape Coast seeks an Associate Professor to lead research and teaching in energy, petroleum economics, petroleum/natural gas engineering, petroleum commerce, and natural resource law and governance. This senior academic position will strengthen the institute’s interdisciplinary focus on the oil and gas sector.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the designated areas of expertise.
- Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate research projects.
- Develop and lead research programmes, securing external funding where possible.
- Publish high‑quality refereed articles and contribute to the institute’s scholarly output.
- Participate in departmental governance, curriculum development, and community outreach.
Required profile
- Hold the academic qualifications required for a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast.
- Minimum of four years teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent.
- At least seven refereed publications in the relevant field since the last Senior Lecturer appointment.
- Demonstrated experience supervising postgraduate and undergraduate research.
- Strong research background and professional experience in oil and gas studies.
- Maximum age of 55 years.
