Clearing Supervisor – Customs & Port Operations

About the role

The Clearing Supervisor will oversee all customs clearance and port operations for imports and export shipments at Kasapreko Company Limited and its affiliates in Ghana, primarily at the Tema port. Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will ensure smooth, compliant movement of goods while minimizing delays and costs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end customs clearance for import and export shipments, preparing and verifying all required documentation.
• Coordinate with the Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division), port authorities, shipping lines and freight forwarders to secure timely clearance.
• Identify and resolve customs‑related issues, preventing demurrage, detention, penalties or storage charges.
• Maintain compliance with Ghanaian customs regulations and international trade laws.
• Oversee logistics from port clearance to final delivery, including transportation and warehousing coordination.
• Develop and sustain relationships with transporters, clearing agents and third‑party logistics providers.
• Lead, coach and train a team of logistics coordinators and support staff.
• Prepare detailed reports on logistics performance, costs and any disruptions.
• Analyse processes for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in customs clearance and port operations within Ghana.
• Strong knowledge of Ghana Customs procedures, GCNet/ICUMS systems and Incoterms.
• Ability to manage a team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
