Director of Sales & Marketing – Hotel

About the role

The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead the sales function for a hotel with over 300 peak rooms, driving booking and revenue targets while implementing the brand’s service strategy. This senior role focuses on building long‑term, value‑based relationships with customers and aligning sales activities with the property’s financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic account plan for key market demand generators.
• Manage both reactive and proactive sales efforts to meet booking goals.
• Coordinate marketing communications and campaigns with regional marketing teams.
• Analyze market and economic trends to adjust sales strategies.
• Review STAR reports, competitive shopping data, and other market intelligence.
• Research competitor sales strategies to identify growth opportunities.
• Oversee the marketing budget and create property‑specific promotions.
• Collaborate with regional marketing communications for national and regional initiatives.
• Ensure a strong return on investment for the owner and Marriott International.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management or related field with 4 years relevant experience, OR a 4‑year degree with 2 years experience.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise a sales team.
• Experience in lodging sales and a progressive career in the hotel industry.
• Track record of exceptional performance and revenue growth.
