Director, Research and Consultancy

About the role

The Director, Research and Consultancy will provide senior academic leadership for Ghana Technology University College, shaping the institution’s research agenda, building national and international partnerships, and securing funding for innovative technology projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy aligned with the university’s mission.
• Identify, pursue, and manage public and private research grants at national and international levels.
• Oversee grant proposal development, submission, reporting, and post‑award budget administration.
• Lead and mentor faculty members, fostering a culture of high‑quality research and publication.
• Maintain and expand networks with academic and research institutions worldwide.
• Ensure compliance with funding agencies’ regulations and internal university policies.

Required profile

• PhD with a distinguished record of academic leadership.
• Minimum five years of experience in a tertiary institution, including at least three years in senior leadership roles such as Faculty Dean or Head of Department.
• Extensive network of relationships with national and international research bodies.
• Proven success in obtaining public and private research funding.
• Scholarly credentials that qualify for at least a senior lecturer appointment, including teaching, research publications, and service.

Required skills

• Expertise in proposal development, submission, and post‑award reporting.
• Strong budget management and financial reporting abilities.
• Familiarity with software systems and tools used for grant management.
