Head of Actuarial

About the role

Prudential is seeking a senior actuarial leader to drive product development, pricing, and strategic actuarial initiatives. You will work closely with finance, regional stakeholders, and the broader business to ensure robust actuarial support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development, pricing, and competitor pricing analysis, presenting insights to local and regional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to support IFRS 17 compliance through assumption setting, model development, and reporting.
• Oversee actuarial services including reserving, financial reporting, reinsurance analysis, and embedded value reporting.
• Contribute to strategy development and provide actuarial inputs for the annual three‑year plan.
• Review experience trends, recommend investigations, and manage the assumption‑setting process.
• Develop and roll out the Prophet actuarial system and assist with solvency and asset‑liability assessments.
• Evaluate reinsurance treaty performance annually and propose adjustments.
• Lead, develop, and manage a team of actuarial analysts while maintaining strong liaison with local, regional, and group stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive actuarial experience in insurance, preferably with IFRS 17 exposure.
• Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
