Product Manager – API, Payments & New Business

About the role

Telecel Cash is looking for a Product Manager to own and scale its payment and platform ecosystem. You will be accountable for revenue growth, partner expansion, and product adoption across API, merchant payment, and bulk disbursement solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new revenue streams in emerging payment technologies such as CBDCs, stablecoins, blockchain, and open banking.
• Build and scale a digital marketplace within the Telecel Play App and USSD channels, integrating fintech and merchant services.
• Launch low‑barrier payment solutions for nano and micro merchants to increase daily transaction volume.
• Lead partnership negotiations with fintechs, banks, and third‑party providers, ensuring commercially viable agreements.
• Expand physical and virtual POS acceptance through strategic alliances and acquisition initiatives.
• Define and execute the commercial strategy for Open APIs, focusing on monetisation, ecosystem stickiness, and developer adoption.
• Own the growth and scalability of bulk payment solutions for salaries, vendor payments, and corporate disbursements.
• Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch and continuous optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, SLA, and AML requirements throughout product design and implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fintech or financial services.
• At least 3 years in product management or commercial leadership with demonstrable revenue impact.
• Strong strategic thinking, commercial mindset, and proven negotiation skills.
