Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme. The role focuses on developing, deploying and promoting Earth Observation services and applications, especially those based on Copernicus data, to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications in sectors such as early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management, and biodiversity.
• Leverage Copernicus data and products to create tailored solutions for African institutions and end‑users.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and capacity building with local partners, ensuring uptake of EO services.
• Contribute to project proposals, reports and policy dialogues related to the Africa‑EU Space Partnership.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services using Copernicus data, preferably in early‑warning, climate, environment, agriculture, water or biodiversity contexts.
• Experience working with African institutions and facilitating user uptake is a plus.
