Mechanical Technician – Locomotive Maintenance

About the role

The Ghana Railway Development Authority is looking for four Mechanical Technicians to join its maintenance team. You will be responsible for keeping locomotive mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Service locomotive engines, braking systems, couplers and other mechanical components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on railway equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns, conduct equipment testing and carry out repairs.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• Technician Part 3 Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ industrial experience in locomotive or heavy‑equipment maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities, with capacity to work under pressure.
