Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer will safeguard the premises, staff, clients, visitors and property of Gillman and Abbey Funeral Service. This full‑time position requires vigilance, prompt reporting of incidents and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Provide security and protection for the organisation’s premises, staff, clients, visitors and property.
• Monitor and control access to the premises.
• Conduct regular patrols and security checks within and around the site.
• Maintain vigilance and promptly report suspicious activities, security breaches, emergencies or unusual incidents.
• Keep accurate records of visitors, incidents and other security‑related activities.
• Ensure strict adherence to established security procedures and organisational policies.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly and secure environment at all times.
• Perform any other security‑related duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence with a minimum of two years driving experience.
• Minimum HND or Diploma certificate.
• Physically fit and capable of performing security duties.
• Responsible, disciplined, vigilant, trustworthy and reliable.
• Available to work on a shift basis, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
