Senior Project Officer, West Africa

About the role

The Senior Project Officer will develop and manage projects within Palladium’s West Africa portfolio, supporting regional goals and targets. Based in Accra, the officer will provide high‑quality technical and commercial input across the Investments in Forests and Sustainable Land Use Programme (IFSLU2) components, from opportunity assessment to performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse new project opportunities and build a robust pipeline.
• Develop business cases, project designs and implementation plans for forest and sustainable land‑use initiatives.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring compliance with technical standards and timelines.
• Monitor project performance, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with regional teams and other IFSLU2 components to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain regular communication with the Regional Manager and contribute to strategic planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project development and management, preferably in environmental or land‑use sectors.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess opportunities and develop business cases.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams across West Africa.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work from the Accra office at least three days per week, with flexible arrangements.
