Tractor Operator – Forestry Harvesting

About the role

Form Ghana Limited is seeking motivated and safety‑focused individuals to join its forestry team as Tractor Operators. You will work on plantation sites in Berekum and Akumadan, operating tractors that support timber extraction while adhering to strict health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the extraction team during harvesting operations.
• Operate tractor‑mounted winch systems and adjust controls as needed.
• Assess terrain and plan tractor movement along extraction routes.
• Prevent damage to standing trees and maintain clear roads.
• Report hourly productivity and any mechanical faults to the Harvesting Supervisor.
• Maintain tractors daily and weekly according to the approved schedule.
• Complete daily machine checklists accurately.
• Achieve daily production targets and ensure safe, efficient operation.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum Junior High School (JHS) certificate.
• Physically and mentally fit with good eyesight and depth perception.
• Possession of a valid NHIS card, Ghana Card and SSNIT number.
• Ability to lead extraction teams and work outdoors in challenging conditions.

Required skills

• Ability to safely operate tractors and related forestry equipment.
• Good understanding of tractor maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental practices.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
