Account Officer (Stock & Sales)

About the role

We are seeking an Account Officer specialized in stock and sales to join our finance team in Accra. The role focuses on reconciling inventory, analysing sales performance and ensuring accurate financial reporting within a hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mid‑week and weekly stock reconciliations, comparing physical counts with system records to identify variances.
• Analyse sales trends, revenue streams and product margins, producing detailed reports for management.
• Track inventory costs, monitor weighted‑average costing and maintain accurate stock valuation in the general ledger.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stock audits, preparing documentation and ensuring compliance.
• Prepare recurring dashboards and variance analyses to support purchasing, pricing and operational decisions.
• Process stock‑related journal entries and manage related accounts payable/receivable.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in accounting, auditing or financial analysis with a focus on inventory and sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to detect discrepancies in large data sets.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Experience with ERP systems such as QuickBooks, SAP or Tally.
