Business Manager – External & Government Relations

About the role
We are looking for a Business Manager to act as the strategic liaison between our new glass manufacturing project and external stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional authorities, utility providers and local communities. The role ensures legal, social and operational foundations are secured for smooth construction and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage land transfer procedures, liaising with the Lands Commission to secure leaseholds and title registrations.
- Build and maintain relationships with the Traditional Council and local chiefs, resolving boundary or compensation disputes.
- Coordinate local labour requirements and community expectations to prevent protests during construction.
- Lead negotiations with GRIDCo/ECG for high‑voltage grid connection and with GWCL for industrial water supply.
- Secure gas supply by coordinating with GNPC and Ghana Gas, overseeing gas station construction and price agreements.
- Oversee local contractors for site leveling and access‑road construction.
- Manage registration with GIPC, apply for customs duty exemptions and coordinate clearance of imported equipment at ports.
- Lead the application for Free Zone status and related tax benefits.
- Obtain and renew permits from EPA, GSA, GNFS and District Assembly, and act as point of contact for immigration and police services.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years experience in large‑scale industrial, manufacturing or infrastructure projects in Ghana.
- In‑depth knowledge of Ghanaian government administrative processes and the Land Act.
- Established communication channels with Customs, Lands Commission, ECG/GRIDCo or related energy sectors.
- Full professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Twi or other local dialects is a strong advantage.
- Proven diplomatic and negotiation skills, with experience in free‑zone applications and heavy‑industrial projects.
