About the role
The Chef de Partie will organise kitchen operations, prepare and serve a variety of dishes, and supervise junior kitchen staff in a busy restaurant environment in Accra. This role reports to the Kitchen Manager and ensures high standards of food quality, safety, and service.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare food, beverage, material and equipment in advance for service.
- Cook and plate dishes according to the restaurant menu.
- Provide direction and training to kitchen helpers, commis, cooks, attendants and stewards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area; reset stations between service periods.
- Conduct shift briefings and communicate operational requirements in the manager’s absence.
- Support performance management, on‑the‑job training and appraisal processes.
- Ensure new staff complete corporate and departmental orientation.
- Assist with budgeting, cost‑saving measures and recycling initiatives.
- Log security incidents and accidents as required.
Required profile
- Formal gastronomic education (apprenticeship, diploma, BA/BSc) and HACCP certification.
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience; international experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Nigerian cuisine.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in a multinational environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems proactively and maintain effective relationships with staff and guests.
Required skills
- HACCP certification.
- Expertise in Nigerian cuisine.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer operations.
