Child Labour Monitoring & Remediation System Field Agent

About the role

The CLMRS Field Agent serves as the primary contact for households participating in the Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System. The role focuses on building trusted relationships with farming families, raising awareness of child labour and child rights, and supporting remediation actions.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with households to raise awareness about child labour, explain the CLMRS, and provide guidance for behaviour change.
• Visit households and farms to interview children and adults, identify children in labour or at risk, and record data using mobile tools.
• Support families to transition children out of labour through regular dialogue, referrals and monitoring of remediation actions.
• Collect and report community‑level data, facilitate partner visits, and maintain all equipment and materials.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary qualification (e.g., Higher National Diploma) and knowledge of cocoa‑growing communities.
• Experience in child‑sensitive interviewing, child protection or community development.
• Strong relationship‑building, empathy and ability to work independently in remote areas.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including by motorcycle, and be respected in local communities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tablet or smartphone for mobile data collection.
• Ability to use standard mobile applications for recording and reporting.
