Company Treasurer & Head of Trade Finance

About the role

Stratcon Energy & Trading is seeking a senior professional to lead treasury operations and oversee all trade finance activities for its petroleum trading business. The role combines corporate liquidity management, banking relationship oversight, and the execution of complex trade finance instruments to support bulk import, export, and distribution of petroleum products.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, issue, and manage various types of Letters of Credit (sight, usance, standby, back‑to‑back, transferable) ensuring full compliance with UCP 600, ISBP and URC 522.
• Negotiate and maintain bilateral trade finance facilities, revolving credit facilities, borrowing base and inventory financing lines with local and international banks.
• Maintain real‑time multi‑currency cash flow models, rolling forecasts and optimise working capital across trading operations.
• Oversee daily banking operations, pooling structures, sweeps and high‑value inter‑bank transfers.
• Manage foreign‑exchange exposure and execute spot, forward and swap contracts; coordinate with the derivatives desk for margin funding.
• Implement counter‑party credit risk frameworks and set exposure limits for off‑takers and chartering partners.

Required profile

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in treasury, cash management, trade finance or related financial functions.
• Proven track record in managing liquidity, banking relationships and structured trade finance facilities.
• Experience in the energy or petroleum trading sector is highly desirable.
