Cross Border General Manager – West Africa

About the role

The Cross Border General Manager will lead Cummins' regional Cross Border Business in West Africa from our Accra office. You will own the full P&L, drive profitable growth, and ensure operational excellence across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Own the P&L for the Cross Border Business and consistently achieve or exceed balanced‑scorecard targets.
• Strengthen dealer and partner capabilities, shape go‑to‑market execution, and deliver consistent customer service in complex environments.
• Translate long‑term strategy into short‑term business plans aligned with Cummins’ unit goals.
• Integrate commercial, service, supply‑chain and governance priorities to support sustainable growth and manage risk.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively addressing current and future needs.
• Coordinate across functions to remove barriers that could impact performance or customer outcomes.
• Embed continuous‑improvement and Six Sigma practices to improve efficiency, quality and cost performance.
• Develop high‑performing teams and future leaders through clear expectations, targeted development and career planning.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand Cummins’ market presence and pipeline.

Required profile

• Proven cross‑border business leadership with multi‑country portfolio experience.
• Deep expertise in mining and power‑generation customer environments, including uptime, safety and lifecycle support.
• Ability to lead market entry, growth strategy and distribution performance across diverse markets.
• Fluency in French and cultural agility to engage stakeholders in French‑speaking regions.
• College or university degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Significant relevant experience in senior commercial or general‑management roles.
