ICT Assistant Intern

About the role

The ICT Assistant Intern will join the UNDP Ghana Country Office’s ICT Unit, providing first‑level technical support and assisting with asset management. Working under the ICT Associate and Operations Manager, the intern will help ensure staff have reliable digital tools and a secure working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Teams/Zoom, email and other collaboration tools.
• Log, track, escalate and follow up on ICT support requests to achieve timely resolution.
• Assist with the implementation of the Inventory Management System: validate records, tag equipment, update custodian assignments and reconcile physical assets.
• Support user account setup, onboarding/off‑boarding checklists, shared‑drive access requests and ICT operational reporting.
• Conduct network and connectivity checks, prepare meeting‑room ICT readiness, and contribute to cybersecurity awareness activities.
• Develop documentation, user guides, training materials and provide ad‑hoc assistance for business continuity and digital transformation projects.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a relevant ICT, Computer Science or related programme or recent graduate.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with the ICT team.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Basic hardware troubleshooting for laptops, desktops and printers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams and Zoom.
• Experience with inventory management and asset tagging.
• Understanding of network connectivity checks and cybersecurity best practices.
