Investment Specialist (NPSA10) – Accra

About the role

The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is seeking an Investment Specialist (NPSA10) to join its team in Accra, Ghana. The role supports UNCDF’s mandate to mobilize and catalyze capital flows for SDG‑impactful investments in the least‑developed countries, contributing to sustainable economic growth and equitable prosperity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted technical and financial advisory services on investment projects that deliver development outcomes.
• Design bespoke financial structuring solutions and undertake financial de‑risking of investments.
• Enhance investment readiness of SDG‑aligned projects in partnership with private sector, UN agencies, development finance institutions and philanthropic partners.
• Support the mobilization and crowd‑in of public and private capital through UNCDF’s blended‑finance platform.
• Contribute to the development of local financial systems and new markets in least‑developed countries.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align financing solutions with UNCDF’s strategic framework.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in investment advisory, development finance or blended‑finance environments.
• Strong understanding of SDG‑aligned investment strategies and the challenges facing least‑developed countries.
• Ability to work with a diverse set of partners, including private investors, UN bodies, and development finance institutions.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to prepare advisory reports and financial structuring proposals.
