About the role
Newmont is seeking a dedicated Trainer to deliver process maintenance (mechanical) training for Mechanical Technicians and Apprentices at its Ahafo Mine. The role focuses on ensuring staff are proficient in operational protocols, safety standards, and efficiency practices within a mining environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver training sessions on mechanical process maintenance.
- Prepare and update training materials for mechanical operations.
- Monitor trainee progress, conduct assessments, and record feedback.
- Evaluate and report on training effectiveness to management.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate with Process Mechanical Supervisors for alignment.
- Maintain compliance with mechanical standards and adapt content as processes evolve.
Required profile
- Diploma or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Workplace Trainer and Assessor certification.
- Mincom certification – Inspecting or Sectional Engineering competency.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a mining or related environment.
Required skills
- Mechanical Engineering knowledge.
- Mincom software proficiency.
- Inspecting certification.
- Sectional Engineering certification.
