Process Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Process Mechanical Technician is responsible for the safe troubleshooting, repair, testing and routine maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems at Newmont's Ahafo mining operation. This role ensures that plant processing and production are optimised while adhering to mechanical codes, specifications and Newmont’s health, safety and environment standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safe troubleshooting, replacement, repair and testing of mechanical equipment.
• Perform general and preventive maintenance according to approved standards.
• Execute maintenance tasks received from the Mechanical Supervisor and follow scheduled work orders.
• Identify, resolve and correct mechanical faults and defects affecting equipment and process flows.
• Investigate equipment failures in depth and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain housekeeping of tools and participate in daily safety leadership activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies, attend safety meetings and eliminate hazards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical codes, specifications and safety regulations.
• Ability to work onsite and follow structured maintenance schedules.
• Commitment to Newmont’s health, safety and environment standards.
