Sales Engineer (Construction Products)

About the role

We are looking for a customer‑focused Sales Engineer to drive growth of our construction product portfolio across Ghana and West Africa. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong relationship management, conducting on‑site visits, product trials and delivering practical solutions that add value for developers, contractors and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site visits and actively prospect to build a personal sales pipeline.
• Perform product trials, demonstrations and technical support to ensure optimal performance.
• Prepare and deliver technical proposals, product recommendations and mix‑optimization solutions.
• Provide training and technical education on product application and best construction practices.
• Identify sales opportunities for mortars, admixtures and related trading goods to meet revenue targets.
• Assess and drive new product introductions across the group offering.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs and competitor activities to uncover growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal technical, operations and logistics teams to guarantee timely delivery and service support.
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on payments to maintain healthy credit control.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical, Civil, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Sales, Marketing or related field (post‑graduate degree is a plus).
• 1‑2 years of experience selling construction products or related materials, with key‑account management and business development exposure.
• Strong knowledge of the construction industry, especially the built environment in Ghana and West Africa.
• Strategic orientation and understanding of project‑management principles.
• Excellent analytical, negotiating and influencing abilities.
• Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
