Senior Finance Officer – Insurance Industry

About the role

The Senior Finance Officer will oversee accounting operations and ensure tax compliance within an insurance environment. This role combines financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic tax planning to support the company’s commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with group, statutory, regulatory and IFRS 17 requirements.
• Assist in consolidating financial data for group‑level reporting and produce management accounts, prudential reports and board‑level financial statements.
• Support the budgeting, forecasting and capital‑expenditure processes, including cost‑statement preparation and variance analysis.
• Coordinate tax compliance activities, prepare and file corporate income tax, VAT, payroll tax and other returns, and develop tax optimisation strategies.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting and marketing teams to provide financial guidance for business initiatives.
• Develop and update policies and procedures related to financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and maintain a robust fixed‑assets management system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance within the insurance sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 and related disclosure requirements.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis.
