Accountant – Multi‑Currency & E‑Commerce Finance

About the role

The Finance team of Clozar Ghana is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage multi‑currency digital ledgers, support e‑commerce revenue tracking and ensure accurate financial reporting across our regional operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date digital ledgers in GHS, NGN, SLE and USD, recording daily e‑commerce sales, logistics charges and tech service revenues.
• Process and reconcile supplier invoices, vendor payouts and cross‑border disbursements.
• Perform daily and weekly reconciliations of client digital wallets, mobile‑money accounts, escrow balances and credit‑card gateways against bank deposits.
• Collaborate with operations and logistics to monitor cargo transit costs, fuel margins, customs duties and FX conversion spreads.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including multi‑currency profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow reports.
• Assist in budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and variance analysis for regional hubs.
• Ensure compliance with West African tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, corporate tax) and file statutory returns.
• Design and maintain internal control workflows to detect system anomalies and prevent fraud.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience, preferably in a high‑volume FMCG or retail environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and time‑management abilities.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or other ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
