About the role
The Accounts Officer will manage daily cocoa receipt invoicing, bank reconciliations and vendor payments for the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) and Nyonkopa Cocoa Buying Company Ltd. The position is based in the Accra office and reports to the GL Accountant for Ghana.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and invoice Daily Cocoa Taken Over Receipts (CTOR) to CMC.
- Prepare and follow up sales invoices, reconcile with CMC advice.
- Update Cocobod invoices and monitor weekly port returns.
- Submit and realize CTOR invoices in the BBS system.
- Convert sales figures from BBS to SAP purchase entries.
- Manage employee vendor accounts, retirements and ageing analysis.
- Handle petty cash, bi‑weekly bank reconciliations and cheque deposits.
- Prepare monthly WHT schedules and support month‑close activities.
- Participate in financial and tax audits.
- Collect, copy and file documents for the Kumasi office.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Administration (Accounting), Bachelor of Commerce, ICAI or ACCA qualification.
- Minimum 2 years relevant accounting experience.
- High accuracy, strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel when required.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP (advantageous).
- Familiarity with BBS accounting system.
