About the role
The Banquets Manager will lead the banquet team at Accra Marriott Hotel, ensuring high‑quality service for all events. This role combines hands‑on service, staff leadership, and financial oversight to deliver memorable guest experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and motivate banquet staff while personally assisting during events.
- Manage banquet operations, including supply procurement (china, glass, silver, props) and inventory control.
- Monitor and control beverage costs using banquet beverage records.
- Schedule service staff to meet service standards and maximize profitability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with client groups to retain business and drive growth.
- Lead monthly department meetings, set goals, and delegate tasks.
- Act as liaison between banquet and kitchen teams.
- Handle guest feedback, resolve complaints, and champion exceptional customer service.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years experience in event management, food & beverage, or a related field.
