About the role
The Biomedical Scientist will lead the Laboratory Department at Sanford World Clinics’ new sites in Ghana, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic services for the community. This position combines hands‑on laboratory work with supervisory responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the laboratory team.
- Perform phlebotomy and process patient samples efficiently.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and ensure accurate results.
- Maintain equipment, reagents, and quality‑control standards.
- Assist with training of junior staff and interns.
- Carry out any additional duties required to keep the laboratory functioning smoothly.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent field.
- At least one year of post‑qualification internship or relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and supervisory abilities.
Required skills
- Phlebotomy.
- Sample processing and handling.
- Performing and interpreting routine laboratory tests.
