HIV Technical Advisor

About the role

The HIV Technical Advisor will provide senior technical leadership for the FHI 360 EpiC project in Ghana, supporting the Ministry of Health and partner agencies to achieve the UNAIDS 95‑95‑95 targets. The role focuses on expanding access to comprehensive HIV prevention, testing, treatment and viral load services across three PEPFAR‑supported regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of community‑ and facility‑level HIV activities in line with the approved EpiC work plan.
• Provide technical guidance to national and sub‑national health authorities, ensuring alignment with PEPFAR, Ghana Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.
• Optimize financial and logistical resources for HIV prevention, care and treatment programmes.
• Strengthen health system capacity, promote domestic resource mobilisation and remove structural barriers to sustainable HIV service delivery.
• Ensure that all interventions are evidence‑based, community‑driven and contribute to the project’s targets for testing, treatment initiation, adherence and viral load suppression.

Required profile

• Senior professional with extensive experience in HIV programme implementation and technical advisory roles.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government ministries, NGOs and international donors.
• Strong understanding of PEPFAR guidelines, UNAIDS targets and Ghana’s health system.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Experience in resource mobilisation, logistics management and health system strengthening.
