Business Manager – Freight Services

About the role

The Business Manager will lead daily logistics operations, drive growth, manage client relationships and ensure efficient service delivery for a leading indigenous customs brokerage and freight forwarding provider in Ghana. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and extensive supply chain expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end logistics operations (transportation, fleet, warehousing if applicable)
• Develop and implement business growth strategies
• Manage client acquisition and retention
• Prepare and monitor budgets, cost control, and profitability
• Responsible for the P&L of the branches they oversee
• Supervise and coordinate operations, fleet, and administrative teams
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
• Analyze performance metrics and prepare management reports
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with clients and vendors
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiency

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA or professional certification is a plus)
• 5–10 years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in freight services
• 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Proven track record in business development and operations management
• Residency in Ghana
