Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Hospital Leadership

About the role

The Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital seeks a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for Ghana's premier tertiary teaching hospital. The CEO will drive innovation, ensure high‑quality patient care, and uphold the institution's teaching and research missions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day management of the hospital and implement short‑ and long‑term strategic plans.
• Develop, approve, and enforce internal policies, guidelines, and compliance frameworks.
• Secure appropriate resources and manage the annual budget prudently.
• Prepare performance reports, annual accounts, and ensure transparent governance.
• Promote a strong corporate image, uphold integrity, and foster collaboration with external stakeholders.
• Oversee the formulation and execution of internal programmes aligned with the hospital’s objectives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant post‑qualification experience, including at least 5 years in senior management, preferably within the health sector.
• Demonstrated leadership, continuous professional development, and familiarity with Ghana Health Service and relevant Acts.
