Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

About the role

The Chief Finance Officer provides strategic financial leadership for Fidelity Bank Ghana, shaping financial strategy, ensuring sustainability, and supporting the bank’s development mandate. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO safeguards the bank’s financial health and delivers critical insights for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the bank’s long‑term sustainability goals.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and maintain robust internal controls in line with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with risk management to identify, assess and mitigate financial risks, and integrate risk considerations into financial decisions.
• Maintain compliance with all financial regulatory requirements and manage relationships with regulators, auditors, rating agencies and development partners.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, board and senior management, translating objectives into financial plans and targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in development finance or financial services, including at least 8 years in an executive management role.
• Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• Full membership of a professional accounting or finance body (e.g., ICAG, ACCA, CFA) and relevant certifications.
• Proven experience managing financial risk at an executive level, preferably in international or emerging markets.
• Demonstrated leadership and achievement in high‑performance organisations.
